Parent Association

ISB Parent Association
Formed in March 2014, the Parent Association (PA) of the International School Breda (ISB) is an advisory body consisting of enthusiastic volunteer members. All members have at least one child currently attending the ISB and all sections of the school are represented: Nursery, Primary and Secondary.

The ISB PA is a non-profit organisation with the main objective of developing effective relationships between the school, parents and others associated with the school. The PA are actively engaged in a variety of activities across all year groups to bring the school, parents, children and students closer together.

Through its fundraising, the PA also supports the ISB by providing facilities and equipment to advance the education of the children and students, adding interest and fun to the learning process.

With the ISB’s phenomenal growth comes a requirement for a more formal approach to engaging parents with the school’s curricular and extra-curricular activities. The raising of additional funds by the PA for activities and events that go above and beyond normal educational needs is a critical and much needed form of support. The school is partly government-funded so keeps school fees at a competitive level, but the additional money raised by the PA provides valuable extras to benefit all ISB students. Although only operational for a short time, the PA has already been successful in its efforts is committed to further improving facilities and resources for generations to come.

The PA consists of up to15 members who are chosen by the parent community for the duration of the school year. Yearly elections are held during the first terms of each school year. Should a vacancy arise during the school year, it may be necessary to hold a mid-year election, such is the nature of the international school community.
