Students raise awareness for World Water Day

MYP 4&5 students created a documentary to raise awareness for the United Nations World Water Day as part of their sciences class. The International World Water Day is held annually on March 22 and is “a means of focusing on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources,” according to to the United Nations. Each year the United Nations focuses on a different aspect of freshwater and the focus for 2012 is on Water and Food Security.

“We learned a lot while making the documentary. For example, a lot of water is used in simple foods like hamburgers,” said MYP 4 Student Jamie.

The United Nations World Water Team contacted students to show their appreciation and placed the documentary on their YouTube channel. You can watch the documentary students made by visiting the link below.

“We learned that little things we do can make a big difference,” said MYP 4 Student Matthijs.

Great work, students!
