International Primary Curriculum (IPC)

The principle of the IPC is to focus on a combination of academic, personal and international learning for children worldwide, combined with innovative and exciting ways to learn.

We use the IPC framework to teach your child history, geography, science, ICT, design technology, art, music, physical education and international-mindedness. The IPC allows the class teachers to deliver a range of complementary subjects that are linked into a unit of study by their association to a theme or topic.

The IPC is designed to help your child:

  • Engage with their learning so they remain committed to learning throughout their school career and their life
  • Develop the personal qualities they need to be a good citizen and to respond to the changing context of their life in the future
  • Develop a sense of their own nationality and culture, while at the same time developing a profound respect for the nationalities and cultures of others

We actively promote the personal learning goals of the IPC: adaptability, resilience, thoughtfulness, cooperation and respect. The IPC is the first curriculum in the world to have international-mindedness explicitly built into the learning.

The IPC is now the curriculum choice of international and national schools in over 1,800 schools in over 90 countries around the world. You can find more information at www.greatlearning.com/ipc/
