The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally-minded people who recognize their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, helping to create a better and more peaceful world.
The Learner Profile represents the IB mission statement in action. As an IB school, our objective is to create a learning environment for our students which encompasses the IB Learner Profile. We aim to support our students to become 21st-century learners!
Based on this aim, we strive to be;
- inquirers
- knowledgeable
- thinkers
- communicators
- principled
- open-minded
- caring
- risk-takers
- balanced
- reflective
These characteristics represent the ten attributes which are valued by all IB World Schools and which are fundamental to both the Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme.
At International School Breda, we do not only integrate IB learner profile attributes into our curriculum, but we also aim to make these characteristics explicit by organizing workshops and assemblies around them. We focus on a different IB learner profile trait each month and we aim to raise awareness of what that characteristic means in the real world.
We want to lead our students to learn, think, and act according to the IB Learner Profile. We believe these attributes can help individuals and groups become responsible members of local, national and global communities.
