ISB Eco Team: Small Actions, Big Rewards!
06 January 2025The ISB Eco Team has been celebrating the success of several initiatives launched as part of our participation in the Eco Schools programme. These efforts not only help make our school more sustainable but also empower students to take active roles in environmental stewardship.
ISB Shop and See
The first-ever second-hand clothing sale, ISB Shop and See, was a resounding success! The event raised an impressive €95,25, which will now be available to fund student-led initiatives. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this fantastic effort.
Stay tuned for the next edition of ISB Shop and See, coming in the new year. Don’t miss your chance to shop sustainably while supporting student projects!
The Big Orange Bottle
As part of our commitment to recycling, plastic bottles and cans were collected in the canteen. Recently, two dedicated MYP students took the initiative to recycle these items at the supermarket, earning €52,15. This amount will directly contribute to making ISB even more eco-friendly.
A big thank you to the students and everyone involved in these initiatives. Your efforts are making a real difference in creating a greener school environment!
Let’s keep up the momentum and continue working together for a sustainable future.
Small Sustainable Steps: Shampoo Bars for All
To encourage everyone in our community to think about the small changes they can make for a more sustainable future, our Eco Team distributed a shampoo bar gift from the school (generously supported by Libreon) to all students and staff. This thoughtful initiative serves as a reminder that even small actions, like reducing plastic waste, can have a big impact.
A big thank you to the students, staff, and supporters of these initiatives. Together, we are making a real difference in creating a greener, more sustainable school environment. Let’s keep up the momentum and continue working towards a brighter future!

ISB Students Make an Impact Through Service Projects, Embodying the Motto “ISBCares!”
23 September 2024At the International School of Breda (ISB), the spirit of care and community shines through every student action. Living by the motto “ISBCares!”, ISB students consistently demonstrate compassion, initiative, and a commitment to making a difference.
Each year, Middle Years Programme (MYP) students engage in a range of Service as Action (SA) projects, aimed not only at developing important skills such as perseverance, collaboration, and initiative but also at contributing positively to the community. These projects foster a deeper connection between students and the world around them.
Some of the highlights from this year’s SA projects include:
- The Tulip Project for TaraBodong, which raises awareness and support for important causes
- ShoeBox Action, a drive to provide gifts for those in need
- EcoClub, focusing on environmental sustainability
- Write for Rights ✍️, advocating for human rights through letter-writing campaigns.
- Assisting younger students in the school library
- Supporting the ISB Parents Association in uniting local organizations
- Collaborating with Food Bank Breda 🍽️to provide essential resources to those in need
These initiatives highlight just a few ways in which ISB students are making a meaningful difference in their community.
The ISB SA Team wishes all students continued success in their efforts to create a caring and impactful school year ahead!
