We finally got to celebrate our 10th Anniversary last Thursday 9 June and it was certainly worth the wait! Ms Asbjørnsen opened the festivities by welcoming students, parents, members of staff, neighbours and local dignitaries to the school to celebrate our special anniversary. Following speeches from Dr. Paul Depla, Mayor of Breda, who officially opened the event, and well-received speeches from Daniil (Year 5) and Emma (MYP3), the Buddy-to-Buddy charity received a cheque from the students for a stunning €2,538, raised during our special fundraising event at the end of April.

Later in the morning we also heard from the newly appointed Councilor for Education, Arjen van Drunen, and then Bodi Schill, one of the ISB’s first ever graduates. Bodi spoke warmly about his time at the school and told us all about his study/career trajectory. After the speeches, students and guests were able to head towards the stalls serving food from all over the world, courtesy of our kind and generous parents who spent much time and effort putting together a colorful and tasty array of delicacies for all to enjoy!

We were treated to wonderful musical performances from our Primary and Secondary students and from the Muziekhuis, with whom our DP1 students are closely working. In addition to the bouncy council and percussion workshop, we had stalls offering face painting and tattoos, henna hand decoration, card-making, crown-making courtesy of Devi Kids, we also had stalls with representatives from Platform Breda Internationals, Marketing In-Breda, Breda Marketing, Blind Walls Gallery and Buddy-to-Buddy.

To top it all, we had great weather which made the day all the more enjoyable!
